IMPORTANT NOTICE: This retreat is an experiential retreat designed solely for your personal growth only. It is NOT a training, nor is it an official or accredited training program of the IFS Institute or its model. This retreat is intended exclusively as a personal growth experience and should be understood as such in all respects.

Participants must have participated in and completed one of the following trainings: IFS-I L1, IFSCA Stepping Stones 16-week Training, One Self Institute IFS Foundation Training, Thinking Heart: Comprehensive 16 week IFS Course, or the Essentials of IFS Course by Ted Riskin. In addition, all students must have previous training in the unburdening protocol of the IFS model.

This retreat is limited to a maximum of 28 participants.

What this retreat is about?

This retreat is created for IFS-trained professionals (therapists and practitioners, alike) who want to experience one low dose and one medium dose psilocybin (truffle) journey accompanied by the profound transformative healing of “IFS-medicine,” and desire a deeper understanding of how to apply these skills with your own clients who seek out psychedelic journeys outside your services*.

Supported by Michelle and her team of highly attuned, IFS-Trained Program Assistants, this process offers a strong sense of safety, allowing your protectors to soften and engage more fully. You’ll leave with greater confidence, clarity, and connection—both for yourself and in your work with clients.

Once you register your interest and meet the retreat's training eligibility criteria, we will send you a waiver release form and a further intake form to assess your suitability and safety for participation. If a consultation with a pharmacologist is needed, we will support you in arranging this - this will incur an additional charge of €100 to be paid upfront by you which becomes strictly non-refundable. However, this amount will later be deducted from your non-refundable deposit if you are invited onto this retreat. Only after confirming your suitability will we request your non-refundable and non-transferable deposit to secure your place. Feel free to send questions or concerns directly to Michelle at michelleglassifs@gmail.com.

* For those who facilitate psychedelic journeys and/or provide Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAP), this imbedded retreat is also for you if you desire to have two psilocybin journeys and learn how to optimally support clients with IFS. The primary content focuses on the preparation and integration portions of the work, sometimes called “bookends,” though we will briefly cover journey day.

What to expect from this retreat:

Are your clients engaging in psychedelic journeys outside of your sessions, and you're unsure how to best support them? If so, this retreat may be just what you're looking for. Through experiential learning, you’ll gain grounding, insight, and practical tools to enhance your IFS preparation and integration work with clients.

This unique immersive retreat invites you to personally experience the very process you’ll one day offer your clients: deeply attuned, compassionate support for parts throughout the full arc of a psychedelic journey—from preparation through integration. By engaging in the journey yourself, you’ll gain firsthand insight into how to skillfully apply the IFS model to prepare clients’ parts and support meaningful integration of their experiences. This retreat is an expanded experiential version of Michelle’s 3-hour course which is also included in this retreat offering.

Held within a safe and thoughtfully curated container—an intentionally crafted “set and setting”—you’ll take part in two psilocybin (truffle) journeys during the retreat week. You’ll be paired with a skilled Program Assistant, serving as your dedicated IFS professional support, who will guide you through individual preparation and integration sessions. This support begins in the weeks before the retreat and continues for a short period afterward. You’ll also participate in group preparation and integration sessions to deepen your understanding and connection throughout the process.

It's important to know that this unique retreat begins and ends well before we arrive in the Netherlands. Why? Because both medicines (IFS and psilocybin) collaborate with your system in often mysterious ways which requires time and attention.

Insights & Testimonials from Michelle’s Prior Psychedelic Journey Programs

“I would not be here or have done a journey if the meet-and-greet hadn’t screamed, ‘safe to proceed.’ Integration was as valuable as the journey itself and I’m so glad I knew to make lots of space and time for it. Michelle’s gentle and thoughtful guidance created a lovely opening that really matched what I was hoping to experience. My life feels reconfigured and unstuck. Deep, deep, deep gratitude. Thank you, Michelle’s for everything you offered.”

“What an absolute incredible gift Michelle has given me! I’m grateful from each part of me and my heart is full and tender. What used to have power over me, no longer does. There’s more goodness in the world than I know now from having this deeply moving journey.”

“Michelle provided such a kind supportive and loving presence. What a privilege to have been held by such grace. I appreciate all the thoughtfulness she brings to this work. Her Self-energy, presence, and love were deeply felt, creating a profound container for me to go inside to be with everything needing my attention.”

“This weekend my wife asked me when my next journey might be. She told me that my journey has transformed our relationship. For the first time in her life, she is feeling seen and heard by me because of my journey with Michelle. Thank you, Michelle!”

What Participants Are Saying About Michelle’s Course

“This should be adopted and taught in all Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy programs for harm reduction.”

Dr. Barbara Karlsen, CA

“Michelle is the mentor and teacher my system has been waiting for and I feel beyond blessed to have discovered her courses years ago. To be led by her feels nothing short of a miracle.”

M.N.

“Michelle is a sophisticated instructor who can compassionately hold space for both learning and healing concurrently. It was a wonderful investment in myself as a clinician and as a person.”

Marissa Tunis, Psy.D.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  1. Apply specific IFS interventions in preparation and integration sessions of psychedelic journeys.

  1. Recognize common fears protectors have about psychedelics and utilize reassurances.

  2. Illustrate rationale why IFS works well for psychedelic journey work.

  3. Describe the effects and experiential arc of some psychedelic substances (especially psilocybin).

  4. Recognize general contraindications for psychedelic journeys.

  5. Describe a common arc of IFS-informed psychedelic-assisted therapy.

  6. Offer perspectives for clients.

A little more about Psilocybin ....

Psilocybin (commonly known as “magic mushrooms”) is a naturally occurring substance containing the psychoactive compound psilocin that gives it the classic psychedelic effect. It has been used for centuries for spiritual, ceremonial, and other purposes by Indigenous and tribal communities around the world, and for several decades within the Western world. Psilocybin is considered generally safe. Research has shown it to be helpful with addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, and increasing spiritual and general well-being. While under the influence of psilocybin, one may experience open or closed-eye visuals, a sense of euphoria, timelessness, spiritual awakening, deep connection to the earth, people you love, and life itself, as well as anxiety, confusion, or distorted thinking, among other things. (Think: Self and parts.)

Do you hear Self and parts in these descriptions? That’s right! Psilocybin can open more Self-energy and bring forth parts that need our attention. A low dose journey may last from two to four hours, while a medium to high dose journey might last from four to six hours. Psilocybin mushrooms were recently legalized in Oregon and Colorado and have been decriminalized in a few US cities and countries around the world. Psilocybin truffles are legal in the Netherlands. Mushrooms and truffles are both fungi, where mushrooms are the fruits and truffles are the sclerotia, the resting body of the fungi.
